RAG Exec 2008-09

The RAG Executive committee is the driving force of RAG - new team just elected

What is the Exec?

The RAG Exec is the team of people responsible for turning the well-laid plans of the Charities Committee (meets Monday at 5pm in OUSU) into reality. Each member has their own portfolio which they're responsible for, but they're also expected to pitch in as much as they can with all the events that they can.

They're usually people who've been involved with RAG as common room reps or charities committee members, but the Exec can also include freshers and people entirely new to RAG. The only qualification is enthusiasm!

OUSU Vice-President (Charities & Community)

Eorann Lean - rag@ousu.org - ext. 88465

The RAG Sabbatical Co-ordinator is the OUSU Vice-President (Charities & Community), or VP(C&C). As well as co-ordinating RAG and acting as its treasurer, the VP's full time role also includes promoting and organising volunteering in the community, overseeing the OUSU Environment and Ethics Committee, representing students in the community and organising the Beyond Profit Careers Fair. RAG needs a committed group of enthusiastic volunteers to organise successful events. If you would like to get involved or have any questions them please email me: rag@ousu.org

The OUSU Charities & Community outreach Part-time Executive officer

Anastasya Molodykh - Keble - communityandcharity@ousu.org

The Part-time OUSU Exec member shares their portfolio with the VP(C&C), working closely with him within and without OUSU on their projects.

President

Rachel Dedman - rag.president@ousu.org

The RAG President eats, drinks and sleeps RAG. They chair committee meetings, plan events, help with all areas of running RAG, and they are responsible for making sure that RAG's hare-brained plans turn into real, marketable events!

Vice-President

Bryony Tayler - bryony.tayler@some.ox.ac.uk

The RAG Vice-President deputises for the President when pesky things like essay crises get in the way of doing RAG. Like the President, they are responsible for pitching in with everything that needs a bit of help, and chasing the rest of the Exec up. A good vice-president is there to help without being asked!

Secretary

Claire Handel - claire.handel@hertford.ox.ac.uk

The Secretary's portfolio responsibility is that of taking minutes at Committee and Exec meetings, sending out emails and generally keeping everyone organised and in the loop. Everyone knows whats going on with a good RAG secretary.

Events Coordinator

Charles Bailey - charles.bailey@regents.ox.ac.uk

The Events Coordintor is the person charged with making sure it all runs smoothly on the night by helping other members of the Exec get the necessary resources for their events. They will be key contacts over the 1/2 days leading up to an event. A good events coordinator requires calmness and attention to detail.

Publicity Officer

Louis Barclay - louis.barclay@regents.ox.ac.uk

The publicity officers are responsible for creating all sorts of posters and other promotional material for RAG, making sure it looks lovely, and organising the distribution far and wide. RAG publicity is crucial and worthwhile and this role provides great experience for anyone interested in advertising/design.

Raids officer

Laura Nolan - laura.nolan@some.ox.ac.uk

The Raids officer organises RAG Raids (charity street collections, to most people). Must have untreated Infectious Enthusiasm to be a hit with this job.

Sponsorship Officer

Daniel Lowe - daniel.lowe@seh.ox.ac.uk

The sponsorship officers work with the VP (C&C) to seek sponsorship for some of the specific events RAG organises in order to keep overheads low and maximise profit for the charities which we support.

Webmaster

Jack Turner - jack.turner@spc.ox.ac.uk

Updates oxfordrag.co.uk, and thinks of imaginative ways to use the internet to get people to part with their cash. Helps out where technology is simply too much for mere mortals.

Reps social secretary

Andy Bambury - andrew.bambury@seh.ox.ac.uk

RAG is most successful if everyone works together as a team. This is often achieved through socialising together. The Reps social secretary should organise at least one event a term where we can all meet up outside of RAG events to get to know each other better.

Casino Manager

Daphne Amevenu - daphne.amevenu@stcatz.ox.ac.uk

Coordinates the bookings and volunteer croupiers for the fantastic RAG casino. Also keeps the equipment organised and up-to-date.

Non-portfolio officer(s)

Aled Richards-Jones - aled.richards-jones@sjc.ox.ac.uk

Ben Williams - ben.williams@mansfield.ox.ac.uk

Sam Adcock - samuel.adcock@seh.ox.ac.uk

Tom Haynes - thomas.haynes@stcatz.ox.ac.uk

A non-portfolio officer is just so talented that they cannot be constrained by a job title or position. They are invaluable and will help out wherever help is needed or if someone is unable to complete a job due to illness or incompetence!
